Headmistress Christian English Medium School Udupi

Christian High School was started with the mission to serve the people. It was founded by German Basel Missionaries in 1898. Its motto is love and service. Many headmasters and teachers have rendered their valuable service to this school. In the year 1974, headmaster L. B. Ammanna started the primary Christian English Medium School. Since 1974 to 2003 Christian High School and Christian English Medium School were combined and managed by sole headmaster. In the year 2003 the Christian High School was segregated from play school to 7th standard renamed as Christian English Medium School.

By the grace of God since 7 September 2012 myself Mrs Helen V. Salins has been serving in this school as Headmistress. I studied in Christian High School kannada medium from 8th to 10th standard in the year 1973 to 1976. In the year 1980, I was appointed as the class teacher for 6th standard kannada medium. It was a great pleasure for me to teach in the school where I studied. In the year 1997, I got a promotion to High School as a hindi teacher. In 2007, I was given the charge as a H.M by our management. As per the suggestion given by the management an alumni association was founded. By the generous contribution/ donations given by the alumni association, old students, donors and Badagabettu Credit Co-operative society we renovated the Classrooms, Built new two toilets, Computer lab, Audio visual hall, Main hall, AV hall, Muddanna Mandira, Office room, H.M room, Teachers room, Veranda, New kitchen, Roofing in front of the stage, Interlocks, Two new staircases, Full school white wash/paint and Tar road in front of the school. The deserving students of Kannada Medium School were provided with notebooks, uniforms, umbrellas, school bags and payment of fees. All this was possible only because of your valuable contribution. I will ever remain grateful for your support and assure you all of my prayers.

During these years the school has made great progress and as a result the strength of students has increased. On 30th September 2020, I retired from High School. Since our management has asked me to continue as a Headmistress in Christian English Medium School so at present I am continuing my service. Our aim is to provide quality education and moral values to our students. I am ever grateful to Christian High School for giving me and my family members a good education. The students who study in Christian High School are truly blessed, God's blessings will always be upon them.

Our alumni Shambhavi Bhandarkar had suggested that we should have a school website. I informed the management regarding the website and they happily agreed to it. I am thankful for this opportunity.

As Christian English Medium School has a tiled roof and because of this there is a leakage problem during the monsoon season. So we are thinking of renovating the same and making it a sheet roof. During the renovation of Christian High School building our old student, engineer Nandakumar, has done all the work very well without any expectations. Nandakumar and Shambhavi Bhandarkar will look into the renovation work of the English Medium School for which a management has given their consent. In my 41 years of service I have taught so many students and I take this opportunity to thank each one of you.
